Sweating Doesn't Tell You How Many Calories You Burned Sweating Doesn't Tell You How Many Calories You Burned
Save Tip

Sweating is not a gauge of how many calories you are burning. This will disappoint sauna and steam room lovers! Weight loss or gain is a product of calories consumed or burned. If you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight and vice-versa.

MyFitnessHut Thanks for the comment! The sweating cools your body. The hard work burns the calories.

tdotross3 this is true, but to an extend if you are normal sweater, the more your sweating the more calories you are burning.. ie if i walk for 1 mile and barely sweat compared to run for a mile and sweat alot, i'm most likely burning more calories... this isn't the case with overweight people who tend to sweat more

Jweave I've always wondered. Does that even do anything when you sit in a sauna?
