Feel What You Do, Do What You Feel!
Feel What You Do, Do What You Feel!
General/Other
"The following ain't rocket science at all, its just my 2 cents, anyway..

Few things that I personally consider fundamental regardless your goals:

1) Vary as much as possible your traning schedule and, even better, your sports too. If you're a massive lifter this doesn't mean you cannot enjoy other sports like cycling, running, swimming, yoga, group classes.. That won't really make you lose mass, it will instead allow your body to be versatile, harmonic, reactive, while also boosting your motivation and spicing up your life a little bit with different sensations

2) Feel what you do!
"Today I HAVE TO train legs... oh man I hate that"
I happened to hear similar tunes quite often. Ask yourself WHY you don't like something, what makes your training be unpleasant. Too painful? Nah, I dont believe you, it's not for this. Pain is part of each training, if you have a sport-spirit you have already learned to live with sport-related pain.
From my own experience, if you are really focused on your training, you can always find out new sensations in every little thing you do, new feelings, and you end up enjoying every single minute in which you have the chance of doing whatever sports.
Don't rise a dumbell just because it is written on your workout schedule! Feel the power in your muscle, feel and hear your breath, enjoy the drop of sweat running down from your forehead! It is much easier than what you may think (especially for beginners... how many times you can hear people saying "Thanks God I'm done for today!!").

3) Do what you feel!
Most of the times, personally I do not even have a written schedule. If you are advanced enough in your sport, you can just... do what you like! If you wake up one morning and feel in swimming mood... why not? You WILL give your best whenever you do what you feel like. It doesn't matter if yesterday you told your friend you'd go with him/her to train chest together... or you may want to do both. But what I'm saying is: listen to your mind, spirit and body. It's all one indivisible thing, if you are truly determined with your mind in doing something, you WILL succeed doing that with your body as well.
This will allow you to vary a lot your training, enjoy yourself, and constantly GIVE the best that your body can give, and TAKE the best that your body can give to your spirit.
I think nowadays, especially in a society where frantic work takes most of our lives, we have gotten unable to feel and follow our own instincts. We live following EXTERNAL rules, imposed conventions, imposed fun, stereotypes.. As a consequence we tend to live PASSIVELY (even if we're in constant movement all day long), in that we let Life slip and we SLIP with her.
Go back to YOUR instincts, listen to yourself, RIDE your life, make your decisions come from your inner goals, from the deepest part of you... not from a prefixed schedule.
Now its obvious that there is a time in which you have to plan, you have to t"...
