Cardio on an Empty Stomach Boosts HGH Cardio on an Empty Stomach Boosts HGH
Save Tip

Doing cardio on an empty stomach is the best way to insure fat loss. Your natural fat burning hormone HGH, is boosted dramatically when you perform intense interval type cardio on an empty stomach. To enhance the effect of HGH release, don't eat immediately after your cardio session...wait one hour to allow a full HGH release. This is especially effective at targeting those last 10-15 pounds of "stubborn" body fat. I recommend not going near any type of food for 4 hours before your cardio workout.

This tip is for people who want the slim and toned "Hollywood" look. If you want the bulkier look than you will want to eat a fast digesting protein source immediately after working out. Use the tip and become Tyler Durden from Fight Club! Oh yeah...the first and second rule is to not talk about this tip!

Rusty Dorian,

Some amazing insights. I completely agree. I can go hours without eating and people always say the same thing..."your metabolism is going to slow down"...Like you, I perform my best (physically and mentally), when my system isn't bogged down with food.

Dorian Rusty, I actually was lead to this site by some post or other of yours on another website----I was looking for ways/tips for a 30 year old to put performance back into cardio workouts while getting mojo back.

Your advice is dead on; as a runner, I can attest that a "hungry" body can more efficiently perform, faster, stronger workouts (up to 6-7 miles or so). It is more than about burning fat, too---

Faster, stronger workouts beget more, and use the body's own weight and resorces to do it.

Or, maybe it is just my "percepton'---but I do not think so. I have consistently broken seeconds off mile times, on harder courses, with a body using its own fuel, not something currently being jogged about in my intestines.

The only "psychological" in the equation is "hungry". If you have the leisure time to exercise and worry about body fat, are living in the USA and not Darfur chances are: you not hungry. You have a conditioned desire, desire, desire. The consumerist in your brain wants something, and would be happy with a burger, a new car, new trousers, or anything besides having to confront this "desire".

We have become monstrous in this country because we celebrate invented needs and the accompanying, created anxieties----unfortunately, much of that centers around food as readily consumed as newspapers, chewing gum, or perfumes. I am suprised we don't all keep food in our pockets at the rate we are going, for secret eating at work, the subway, or ther car.

Oh wait.

We do.

Rusty Matt,

I agree completely. If everyone followed this principle there would be many, many more slim people in the world. Everyone focuses so much on what they do during their workout. I believe that over half the results are achieved by preparing you body to burn fat. In my opinion a workout is wasted if the body isn't properly positioned to burn fat.

MatthewCole Not to take away from any of the other tips, but for those trying to lose weight this is probably the BEST tip on the entire site right now! Awesome!
