Keeping a Journal Keeping a Journal
Save Tip

Keep a journal of how you feel after exercise - Especially the great workouts. On the days you just don't feel like exercising, look back on the good workout days for some inspiration.

Remember...NO ONE feels like a million buck every time they workout. Take what your body will give you.

onestrongman I rarely need motivation to workout because I enjoy doing it. On days when I don't feel %100 it is usually due to lack of sleep. I don't journal everyday but I weight myself every morning.

runningbear This is excellent advice. There is merit to being thoughtful and deliberate in our actions, and that includes working out. All too often workouts, like everything else we do, become routine. We need to think about what's effective, what's working for us (and what isn't) and consider why. Great tip.

OldeButGoode Good idea !! I can look back 10+ years and tell you what I did and how I felt that day and days afterward from the workout (sore muscles etc).

davegleason Thanks! I have never believed that we can motivate another person...but we can motivate ourselves.
