MleighS84 i plan on starting my running for the the philly 'thon within the next 2 weeks - once the weather stays nice here in PA/DE - right now its about 70 with a cool breeze (perfect) but its suppose to be rainy and colder this weekend - i figure 2 more weeks and its prime running time :)

MleighS84 Tip 11: Never go grocery shopping after a long run - it only leads to disaster!! best of luck to all training for a 'thon!! If you ever have any questions let me know; I would love to help!!

plucky Well, we can share stories together - my first marathon will also be in November. It's the Big Sur marathon near Monterey, Ca (along the coast so it should be nice, but cold!)

slizzard This will be my first big marathon. It's not until November though!

plucky That's excellent. Would this be your first marathon? When is it? (I know, 20 questions - I'd just like to know what I can expect for my first time ;)

slizzard I like this post, I've been training for a nyc marathon, so this will be helpful.

plucky I'm still surprised myself that I can actually go that far at that pace. I just started running a couple of years ago and got semi-serious about it in the last year (I don't think I'll get more than semi-serious ;) And honestly, I don't think I'll get much faster than that if any - my goal now is to be able to keep the sub 8 minute mile pace for a full marathon. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

MatthewCole Wow Plucky thats quite a fast pace you set! I've been trying to break my 4 mile plateau for a while now with no luck. I will put your tips into play and see how I come out. Thanks!
