Exactly.. Back in the day I used to do that all the time. Start Monday with chest, Tuesday shoulders, then lose time and not do anything until next monday - and it was back to chest. I've switched a lot of things since then, but I remember that used to be a problem.

Good post Ryan. There's no wonder why people create muscular imbalances and eventual injuries when they hit the same muscles on (usually chest and bi's) Mondays. The end of the week is usually when workouts get "bagged" and with a split routine it could be as long as 2 weeks before they hit those muscles again!

that's a really funny but good observation! i notice that monday's are really busy in our work gym period! and definitely the bench press gets more attention then anything else. I do Chest on Tuesday and Fridays atm which works well.
”

So funny and so true and yes my chest day is Monday too, but I tend to workout at 2ish which is after the lunch crowd and before the dinner crowd. So , it does work well form me. But as a trainer I tend to get so frustrated w/ the lack of benches...oh that could be a rant right here:)

I agree - the gym is mostly empty, especially on Friday in the morning... I could do a full gym circuit and never have to share :)

For at least the last couple of years (can't remember before that), I've done chest mainly on Thursdays, sometimes Fridays. No wonder the benches are always open!
